Piaggio 2Fast Motor Dragster MXS + NOS by MXS
Won the cup DSSC in 2007 (championship dragster scooter-German) and that this discipline is exploding in France, so we decided to leave on the basis of a dragster bike for our new concept. The challenge was huge! Submit a dragster as "custom". a dragster is normally extremely simple in design because it is the optimum efficiency is desired. However, for this move, we wanted a really high-end finish for our "drag" of what the exhibit as a concept bike fairs and rallies 2008. The framework is the centerpiece on a machine of this type, so it's on him as our attention turned first.
we like the original, we decided to manufacture aluminum tubes, round, but curved and polished. It was a good idea, but dangerous to implement ... No less than 60 hours (at least) were necessary to the achievement of this piece. Weld bent tubes, symmetrically, is not easy.
Once the frame is assembled, we attacked the main source of weight of a dragster chassis: the front end. The former (scooter rims 10 inches fork "type origin") weighed about 15kg. To overcome this, we decided to perform a new front end, complete, to gain a little weight on this figure that seemed too big!
"5kg less"
With two triple clamps for "dirt bike", with two aluminum tubes, a small rim dragster (at Stage 6 of course ...) and a few hours of work and assembly, we managed to achieve the weight we wanted for our front: 10 kg rim included 5kg better than the old.
The list of high-end pieces, custom, is very long on this concept bike ... Radiator, gas tank, battery, foot rests (with legs) and many different media (for the bottle of NOS, the pump to water injectors NOS, the steering damper, etc.
We did not skimp on resources to transform our new dragster in stupid show! Moreover, the ultimate challenge also lies in the fact of wanting to run with this dragster! In fact, we did not want a concept model of exposure, but also something powerful, and very competitive. The ultimate goal is to win the cup like last year.
